Rub’ al Khali Land Port (Umm Al-Zumzum)
Project Overview
@Network executed a large-scale fiber optic cabling and integration project at the Rub’ al Khali (Umm Al-Zumzum) Land Port in collaboration with MDS for Computer Systems. The project aimed to establish reliable and redundant connectivity between truck entry/exit counters and the main data center, as well as provide secure fiber connections for Customs and Passport buildings.
Scope:
- Connected truck entry and exit counters with the main data center using two separate fiber routes for redundancy.
- Integrated counters with Customs and Passport cabinets inside the main data center.
- Extended fiber connections to selected Passport buildings, also with dual redundant paths.
- Installed equipment cabinets inside the counters.
- Performed complete fiber splicing and termination at counters, Customs, and Passport cabinets.
- Deployed approximately 26,000 meters of fiber optic cabling.
