Project Title
Customs Ports Technical Infrastructure Development – Phase 1
Project Overview
@Network successfully delivered the project “Customs Ports Technical Infrastructure Development – Phase One” across multiple Saudi Customs ports. The project focused on improving reliability, scalability, and efficiency by introducing dual-core systems, upgrading switches, modernizing fiber optic connectivity, and optimizing existing cabinets.
Scope:
- Replaced the single-core system at each customs port with a dual-core setup to ensure redundancy and uninterrupted connectivity with the main data center.
- Upgraded all network switches to Cisco enterprise-grade switches.
- Migrated fiber optic patch panels from SC connectors to LC connectors for higher efficiency and industry standardization.
- Upgraded fiber modules from 1 Gbps to 10 Gbps capacity to support high-speed data transfer.
- Replaced some old network cabinets with new racks.
- For existing older cabinets, carried out full reorganization of UTP cabling and fiber patch cords for proper patching, termination, and labelling.
Value Delivered
- Achieved high availability with dual-core redundancy.
- Increased network performance with 10 Gbps fiber modules.
- Standardized and modernized infrastructure through Cisco switching and LC fiber connectors.
- Organized cabling for cleaner, more efficient cabinet layouts.
- Built a future-ready system that ensures scalability and long-term reliability across critical customs ports.
